TOBAGO RAINFOREST TOUR
An early start today, so we can catch the Rainforest and its inhabitants at their best. We drive along the Caribbean coast and explore Castara Bay with its traditional clay oven bakery (open certain days only), the secluded and picture postcard Englishman’s Bay, and many other picturesque views along the way. We stop to try island fruits and produce, before driving into the oldest protected Rainforest in the Western Hemisphere. At the Main Ridge we can walk the trail to experience an incredible ecosystem at work. There is an abundance of flora and fauna, along with the magnificent birdsong, and the chance to spot many species of birds. Search for land crabs, snakes, iguanas and other animals on the way to the gold and silver falls. Make sure to spot the White tailed sabrewing hummingbird, plus many other species, including our national bird the Rufous Vented Chachalacha or Cocrico. We have lunch in Castara on the way back.
